Monaro High School - Australian Record Attempt Longest Continuous Game 28th Feb 2015

The Monaro High School Basketball teams will be attempting their third Australian record for the longest continuous game of basketball at Cooma Basketball Stadium this weekend.
The teams will begin playing at 8:30am on Saturday, February 28 and aim to finish at 5:30pm on Sunday, March 1 after 33 hours of playing.
The rules for a record such as this state that each team can have 12 players and there is one minute allowed between each quarter and each game to get players back on the court and playing.
The aim of the marathon is to; develop skills and team cohesiveness, promote basketball within the school and community and raise funds to assist with uniforms for their upcoming cultural and sporting trip to Alice Springs/Uluru.
The team of students, staff and parents will travel to Alice Springs at the end of term one to compete against local school and association teams.
They also plan to visit Yulara primary school and complete the 10km walk around Uluru among other cultural activities.
